The healthcare challenge

Keeping medical teams informed about the latest developments in respiratory disease to help them provide the best information and support to healthcare professionals.

The ask

Our client wanted support in creating monthly reports including surveillance data from key respiratory diseases in order to monitor how these viruses circulated over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic in the UK.

The solution

We worked with the client to identify relevant public health data to use as the basis for developing the surveillance reports. We developed initial designs for the report in line with the client’s brand guidelines, incorporating visually impactful elements. Using this design, we developed the monthly surveillance reports for flu, RSV and COVID-19.

Over the course of the pandemic, the design of the reports evolved to include further data, including COVID-19 vaccination rates, and highlight key messages for stakeholders. As the project progressed, the scope also expanded to include the Republic of Ireland and summary reports every 6 months detailing larger overall trends throughout the pandemic. We flexibly adapted our research and writing in response to unpredictable changes in data publication by our source publications.

The benefit

The reports were delivered to internal stakeholders in the UK and Ireland to raise awareness of the external environment in which they work, highlighting key trends and facilitating the organisation’s medical and publications strategies.
